World Cafe is a two-hour long nationally syndicated music radio program that originates from WXPN, a non-commercial station on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. It began in 1991 and was originally distributed by Public Radio International. Since 2005, its distribution has been through National Public Radio. Hosted by David Dye, it features conversations with musicians along with live performances. The music featured covers a wide spectrum, including adult-album-alternative, folk, acoustic, hard rock, singer-songwriter, alt-country, and world music.
