Words of Peace has received the "Honoris Causa" Award from the Brazilian Association of Community Television Channels for its "important contribution to imparting a culture of peace." It is the third award this international series, featuring Prem Rawat's message of peace, has received in Brazil.

According to Fernando Mauro, President of the Association, "This award stands for what we wish to be an eternal relationship between Prem Rawat's message of peace and the Community Television channels. The two hands in the award represent our alliance with Prem Rawat and Words of Peace, a very important alliance to be remembered. Words of Peace has shown people from all levels of Brazilian society the fundamental role that a message of inner peace can play on television and in people's lives."

According to Mr. Mauro, Words of Peace has been instrumental in the integration of Community Channels in open television. Starting in 2008, a new open TV channel was expected to be airing Words of Peace. This channel would reach more than 18 million people in São Paulo alone.

Words of Peace is a series of videos based on speeches that Prem Rawat (aka Maharaji) has given around the world, inspiring people to find peace within. His message, by 2006, reached people in more than 90 countries and 70 languages each week.

Words of Peace was first shown on cable in Brazil in 2003 in São Paulo. It quickly expanded to other cities in the state of São Paulo and to Rio de Janeiro, Caxias do Sul, Porto Alegre and Florianópolis. It is currently (as of 2006) broadcast weekly by four networks. In 2007, Words of Peace was expected to be aired on at least 38 channels throughout Brazil.[5]
