WordPerfect Office

WordPerfect Office is an office suite developed by Corel Corporation. As of april 2008, the latest version is WordPerfect Office X4 (representing 14), which is available in various editions, including Standard, Professional, Home & Student and Family Pack Edition. WordPerfect Office 12 Small Business Edition, including a wider range of applications, including tools for photo editing and Internet security, is also available.

Its predecessor was WordPerfect Suite, assembled by Novell in 1994 and sold to Corel in 1996.

The major components of WordPerfect Office X4 - Standard Edition are:

WordPerfect X4, word processor (.wpd-files)
Quattro Pro X4, spreadsheet (.qpw-files)
Presentations X3, slide show creation (.shw-files)
WordPerfect MAIL, Email client and personal information manager

Business-oriented WordPerfect Office X4 - Professional Edition does not include WordPerfect MAIL, but adds:

Paradox, database management program .pdx-files
WordPerfect Office Software Development Kit, Including specification of WordPerfect Office file formats and various developer tools.

Older applications, no longer included:

InforCentral, relational personal information manager
CorelCENTRAL, personal information manager
Trellix, web design software
Dragon NaturallySpeaking, speech recognition (not in the standard edition)

Of the suite components, only WordPerfect has had a Macintosh version. Development ended with Version 3.5e, which Corel released as freeware in 1998 before halting development.
