Talk:World Allround Speed Skating Championships for Men

[edit] Finland before 1918

Even if Finland was formally a part of the Russian Empire until the revolution, it is customary to consider it a state of it's own. This was also the case at the time -- in contemporary results list Finns are listed as Finns. I think also athletes from Hungary, Bohemia (Czechy) and other parts of the Austrian Empire were listed as Hungarians, Czechs (Bohemians) etc.

[edit] 1904

There should be a footnote telling that the championship of 1904 was won by Peter Sinnerud, who was later disqualified on a rather dubious indictment of professionalism (the question being raised due to rivalling between Norwegian clubs). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.212.8.166 (talk) 01:00, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
