"Since it is a fan film, it was not, and never will be, allowed to be sold at a profit and was thus distributed for free on the internet."

Never will be? Is this WikiNostradamus, now? I think that, while unlikely, the possibility of copyright law changing to the point of allowing fan films to be sold for money is worth considering. I'm removing the ridiculous line.

Then I suggest you gain a better understanding of copyright law. As it stands now, the film can never be sold legally, and so the line is justified. TheRealFennShysa 15:23, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

I suggest you get a better understanding of the way time works, Mr. Condescension. You said "As it stands now," which is true, but the way it stands now might change in the future. It is not the place of wikipedia to speculate on whether current copyright law will remain unchanged until the end of time. "Never will be" is a ridiculous phrase and should be removed.

Really, I was being unfair. Let me add to my previous comment - I understand that the way the law currently stands, this film and others like it cannot ever be sold for profit. However, in phrasing this statement as the film "never will be" sold at a profit, the suggestion is made that current copyright law somehow applies until the end of time. It is possible that the law might change at some point in the future, which would render the current laws no longer applicable. Which would mean, theoretically, that these sorts of films might be sold for profit. To suggest that such a turn of events is logically impossible is, in my opinion, a mistake.

When does the copyright on the characters within expire? Thats when they could sell it.

Image:World's Finest.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
