Its back, and better than ever, I see no reason as to why this cant remain here or become featured eventualy. Dfrg.msc Image:DFRG. MSC.jpg 23:19, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

I'd like this nominated for a feature article. M.C. Brown Shoes 13:19, 17 September 2005 (UTC)

from VfD: Cartoon featured on one episode of The Simpsons. —tregoweth 02:52, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Does not need its own article. -- Antaeus Feldspar 03:39, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Move to episode title and keep there, good info. Everyking 04:34, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • If we move it to Krusty Gets Canceled or Cancelled]], then, well, we're saying that every episode of the show, for all 13 years so far, deserves an article. I think that is far too granular and replicates the episode guides found all over the web. Delete. Geogre 05:56, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • That's not granular at all. Very large numbers of people have watched each of the episodes. If we had a good article on every episode, we'd be a great resource on the subject. Everyking 05:58, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • But, even if I agreed with episodes getting their own articles (which I don't), this in itself has very little bearing on that plot. It was a twenty-second joke out of a twenty-two minute episode. Delete. Ian Pugh 08:21, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
        • But if we were going to write a good article on the episode, this would be a great detail to have, surely. Everyking 16:51, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • I don't see why it's too granular, each Simpsons episode is more heavily watched than a lot of movies, for example. Just because the info exists elsewhere on the web doesn't mean it can't have a place here: you can find info on the web for nearly every article in wikipedia. The advantage of wikipedia is that it's all in one place, organised, and GFDL licensed. Anyway, move this and expand into an episode guide. Shane King 08:45, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete fancruft. --Improv 15:55, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • As Shane King says, move and expand into the full episode. siroχo 18:22, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Move to episode title. While it would be preferable that contributors work on other areas, hey, this has been written already. zoney talk 20:30, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Agree with Siroxo. [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 21:49, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
  • Weak Keep so it can be linked to from Show-within-a-show; failing that, merge and redirect Kappa 22:39, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Move as suggested by Siroxo. GRider 23:07, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Many mentions on the web, there have even been entire fan pages dedicated to Worker and Parasite... it's quite a phenomenom with some Simpsons fans. User:Wurkir 0:08, Nov 16, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, I think. This has notability beyond itself. Move to episode title if necessary. --L33tminion | (talk) 05:19, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep or Merge with episode. No delete. -CunningLinguist 02:51, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep/mergePedant 06:18, 2004 Nov 19 (UTC)
  • Delete. Se comments at Wall E. Weasel above. Mention them and give them a single sentence of explanation on the Simpons character's page. That's the most they deserve. -R. fiend 16:17, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Trollminator 23:55, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Move into Episode page. I agree that every episode should have its own page. If Wikipedians are willing to post so much info per episode, it should be encouraged. Remember, while there might be lots of episode guides on the web, they are episode guides that we can't edit on demand! --Headcase 03:38, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Move into The Itchy & Scratchy Show - Reubot, Nov 26 2004 end moved discussion

Uh, nobodies moved Worker and Parasite anywhere.--Greasysteve13 09:29, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Socialist Realism

The writers of The Simpsons intended it as a satire of the Soviet socialist realism posters of the 1930s.

Is there a cite for this being what the writers intended? As W&P is definitely not done in the socialist realist style, being heavily stylised. Ashmoo 03:52, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hoch Hech

I removed the reference to German - seemed like "original research", and inserted the Russian term for "The End". --Janke | Talk 10:03, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Ponderance

This isn't anything significant, but two questions on language: are the characters even talking anything legible or even resembling language, or is it, like the title, just nonsense. Second, the words on the person's stand with peasants lined up: again, nonsense, or real? I don't know why I ask such nitpicky questions, but I love details! LancasterII 04:13, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

My (unsourced) impression is that the speaking is just gibberish and the writing is just a mixture of characters that the artists though looked like Cyrrilic. Ashmoo 22:52, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Much abliged. LancasterII 02:21, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Meaning of titles

I chopped all the speculation on the meaning of the titles. The only sourced statement on their meaning states that it means nothing. So unsourced speculation, while fun, is pointless. Hate to be a spoil sport, but this is Wikipedia, not a fan forum. Ashmoo 05:12, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] It does actually make sense

The Cartoon does actually appear to have some sort of storyline, so here goes!

Worker & Parasite go out to by food of some sort, but find that there is a big queue, they try to fix things but get caught up in Red tape.
