Talk:Words of Peace
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One small edit proposal, "Prem Rawat, known also as Maharaji, has traveled the world for more than four decades, inspiring people to find peace within. Through Words of Peace" be changed to "Prem Rawat through his "Words Of Peace"". The part I'm suggesting to remove is just fluff added from press releases, and is quoted elsewhere, also the article isn't really about PR, it's about the program. Although, granted, this article doesn't really need any further shortening!-- Maelefique (talk) 18:39, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Can't see the value of that. I agree that the current text seems quite promotional, and some effort could go into enyclopediafying that, but I think your proposal suggests that making the TV and video program is the aim of his travelling. It is really just a record of his talks to live audiences. Rumiton (talk) 03:22, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

- No that's not what I'm trying to say, I'm suggesting we remove the part about his travelling, it doesn't appear to have anything to do with the video, and just sounds like promotional background material for PR. Leave all the information about the actual program where it is, I'm just suggesting taking out the bit that doesn't have anything to do with "Words of Peace". I didn't explain it very well above, so it could just be me being unclear what I mean here...-- Maelefique (talk) 20:06, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, I like the sound of that much better, how about replacing the current sentence with something this:
-
"Words of Peace" is a series of videos based on speeches that Prem Rawat (aka Maharaji) has given around the world, inspiring people to find peace within. His message currently reaches people in more than 90 countries and 70 languages each week."
Any objection? I'm also ok with striking the "(aka Maharaji)" portion, and just linking PR's name directly too. I think the sentence flows better without it, but I have no big preference on that either way. -- Maelefique (talk) 02:19, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] last sentence regarding stations airing this program...
Where did this number come from? The cite reference says 38 stations by 2007.-- Maelefique (talk) 05:23, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
