[edit] Defining category
I've tried to add a specific definition for this cat, and to pop/depop it accordingly. I think it would be appropriate to leave the members of this category to those gymnasts who have actually won an individual World Championships title. Gymnasts who are members of a World Championships-winning team are usually described as such, or as "team gold medalists," and not as "World Champions" themselves. - Thanks Giles. Luo Li doesn't have an article, though, so she can't be added to the cat right now. When I went through the World Championships pages to populate this and the World Championships medalists categories, I noticed that there are a bunch of medalists, particularly in the older competitions, that don't have pages yet (I still can't figure out why nobody's made a page for Ivan Ivankov, for instance...Olympic and World medalists shouldn't be red Wikilinks!). I'd like to see them all with pages (and added to the cat) but that's going to require research, and in the meantime there are a lot of gymnastics stubs out there. I'd like to try to get the existing articles up to speed, cited, edited, etc. before I start any new ones. Once those are in order, though, I'll start trying to add new articles for our "red-linked World Champions" so they can be added to the cat. Of course, if you know anything about Lou Li and would like to start a stub for her yourself and add it to the cat, it'd be appreciated. :) DanielEng 19:12, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
