The Woomera Test Facility (formerly known as the Instrumented Range) is an aerospace testing facility, with the Range Head located at Woomera, South Australia.
just north-west of Lake Koolymilka (usually dry), about 40km north-west ofThe facility forms part of the Woomera Prohibited Area and is operated by the Royal Australian Air Force's Aerospace Operational Support Group (formerly known as the Aircraft Research and Development Unit).
The range is used for both civil and military tests.
Several launchers are located near range centreline that points north-west from the Range Head area.
