[edit] History

The name "Wonderland" originates with the old Wonderland Amusement Park, which operated at the site from 1906 to 1911. The station was originally not meant to be the northern terminus, which was going to be located in Lynn; however, due to budgetary constraints, it became the northern terminus.[citations needed] Plans are now under discussion to extend Blue Line service to Lynn.

The title of the 1998 film Next Stop Wonderland refers to this station.
