This episode shows Dan searching for Serena from the start of the episode and her mother Lily too busy with her wedding preparations to take any notice of the fact that her daughter hasn’t been home all night. Georgina is seen to be constantly calling and leaving countless voicemail messages for Serena who is not taking her calls.
Georgina turns up outside where Serena lives with two coffees only to bump into Dan and she quickly makes up an excuse as to why she’s there. Dan says he can’t locate Serena and Georgina (under the name of Sarah as Dan knows her) suggests that he try to call her mobile phone as she’s very likely to answer if she sees his number calling. Suddenly his phone rings and he sees Serena’s number, he is happy until he hears a male voice on the other end saying he’s the barman in the bar where Serena got drunk the night before and left her mobile phone when she left the bar with three guys. Dan is shocked but does not tell Georgina/Sarah what he has found out.
Meanwhile Chuck and Nate have received calls from Blair insisting that they get over to her home as she needs their help. They meet each other in the elevator and don’t speak. When they get there, the maid says Blair’s not yet home so they have to sit around and wait for her, until she arrives with an extremely drunk Serena passed out in the elevator. Chuck goes into action to get some hangover cures and together the three of them get her out of her drunken condition.
Meanwhile Dan interrupts Lily again, this time she is happier to see him as she is being quizzed by a reporter about her previous relationship with Dan’s father and she feels Dan saved her from having to answer awkward questions. She tells him that the chauffeur has gone to pick Serena up from Blair’s home. Dan goes to see Serena there and see Blair, Chuck and Nate together. He finds this strange and demands to see Serena, they all initially deny that she’s there, but then when he insists on seeing her, Blair says Serena doesn’t want to see him. Things almost get violent with Dan trying to push past Chuck and Nate when Serena appears, looking quite composed. They talk and he asked her if she was unfaithful to him the night before and reluctantly she admits that she was and he leaves there saying it’s over.
Serena breaks down and her friends ask her what is so bad that she had to lie to Dan about sleeping with someone else. They all know Georgina, she was the first girl Chuck had sex with; even he calls her a psycho! Serena tells them that when she was 16, the same night she had sex with Nate at someone’s wedding when he was supposed to be dating Blair, she went on to meet Georgina in a hotel room and the guy Georgina fixed them up to “play” with (Peter) suddenly overdosed on drugs and died. Georgina and Serena ran away from the scene but Serena hung around outside to see if Peter was ok and was horrified to see him being bought out in a body bag. She blamed herself for his death and tells her friends this is why she went off to boarding school and this is why Georgina is blackmailing her. She makes her three friends promise not to do anything about this situation.
Chuck, Blair and Serena turn up at the Lily’s rehearsal wedding dinner and Lily tells Serena she’s sending her away as she has seen the video of her in the hotel room with Peter. Serena is stunned at her mother’s reaction until she realises that her mother hasn’t seen the whole video. Blair tells Lily that Serena is in real trouble and she and the others are not equipped to help her out of this one and pleads with Lily to help. Lily take Serena to see the family of Peter, the guy who died from the drug overdose and realises that he was an addict for over 10 years and would have taken the drugs even if she hadn’t given them to him, his family don’t blame her so Lily persuades her not to blame herself.
Meanwhile Nate has called Vanessa to say he’s running late and she informs him that Sarah (Georgina) is there with Dan. Nate quickly informs Blair and Chuck and they decide to get involved. They arrive at the concert just as Serena arrives with Lily to make amends with Dan but as Nate told Vanessa on the phone that Sarah is Georgina she has already told “Sarah” that she doesn’t like liars and neither does Dan. Georgina turns on the waterworks and tells Dan that her ex boyfriend was stalking her so she changed her name and has no contact with her family.
The episode ends with Georgina calling Serena from Dan’s phone whilst he’s getting them coffee and telling her that “all bets are off” implying that she is going to bed Dan and there’s nothing Serena can do about it. She gives Dan his phone back when he returns with the coffees without him realising that she’s removed the battery.
