Talk:Women in Distress
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think I need some help with writing this. My articles keep getting deleted and each time for different reasons and I do not understand why. I am the authorized person from the organization called Women In Distress and I am trying to create a page for the organization. This information is about domestic violence victims and the services that are for them in our community. How do you suggest I proceed with this. This information is not spam or advertisment, and I do not understand the tone part of it as well. Please help!!WID7269 (talk) 15:43, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'd be glad to help. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and is not a personal website. As such, the article needs to be written from a third-person view, be referenced and focus on verifiable and notable aspects of the organization. Generally speaking, using the word "our" and the phrase "please contact us" are not appropriate. I will rewrite the article from a neutral point of view and we can proceed from there. I ask, in the mean time, that you find third party references to verify your organization's notability. Thanks! (EhJJ)TALK 15:45, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok, great. Thanks. I am not sure what you mean find third party references to verfiy my organization. On Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Program page, Women in Distress is listed on there. I can also find recent media articles that have our agency in them, if that is what you mean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by WID7269 (talk • contribs) 15:49, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, media articles (and other third-party references) is exactly what is needed to provide verifiability and support notability. (EhJJ)TALK 00:01, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
