Wolverine Hotel (Detroit)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wolverine Hotel was a hotel in Detroit [1], near Grand Circus Park. It was imploded in early 1997[2]. Contrary to common belief, the hotel was not demolished for Comerica Park, but for a parking lot, leading to the thought of some that its demolition was unnecessary. Many members of the Detroit Tigers team, such as Al Kaline lived at the Wolverine before they settling in their own homes.

[edit] Trivia

  • Because many members of the Detroit Tigers team, such as Al Kaline lived at the Wolverine before they settling in their own homes, it has been joked that they had foreseen the future were trying to live close to Comerica Park.

Maybe they were seeing into the future, planning ahead and trying to live as close as possible to the ballpark? -Greg Kacir
