Wolf Burn

The Wolf Burn is a small stream, running behind the Ormlie housing estate in Thurso, has a little known piece of archaeology residing beside it.

The Wolf Burn Distillery operated in the mid 19th Century, it stopped being in use some time before 1877. Although many authorities state that it is no longer visible, some locals know exactly where it is to be found on the moorland. It is currently under threat from the local council who are planning on building a road that would destroy all the remains along with the plethora of wildlife including nesting sites of the endangered Skylark.
