This navbox template is a list of suburbs and towns in the Wollongong city metropolitan area. It includes the area covered by the Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama LGAs.
Suburbs listed as Wollongong Urban are generally those within the continuous built up urban area around Wollongong, and which fall into the Australian Bureau of Statistics Centre/Locality of Wollongong.
Suburbs listed as Outlying are those outside of this area, but still within the LGAs and together make up the ABS Subdivision of Wollongong.
The following suburbs are not directly linked:
- Lake Illawarra redirects to an article about the lake itself. There is no article relating to the suburb.
- Wollongong discusses the city of Wollongong. There needs to be a separate article for the suburb of Wollongong.

Suburbs within the Wollongong metropolitan area should use the Wollongong suburb (singular) navbox in preference to using this template directly.
