[edit] Making a start
I made a start editing the huge amount of information into a shorter article. There's a lot that needs to be stripped out as non-notable and a good deal of wikifying to fix paragraphs, link to other WP articles, and revise personal reminisciences into objective statements.

Here's my suggestion. Most of these "important facts" have no citations and, therefore, are not verifiable facts by Wikipedia standards. Also, based on the way the text is formatted, it looks like a big copy and paste job, possibly from a web site. That makes it instant copyright violation. As such, it should be removed... does that make it any easier? ;) --Midnightdreary 12:32, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Number 40
According to Special:Statistics, Wikipedia has around 2,047,083 articles. In terms of size, this one is number 40: Special:Longpages, between Chronic fatigue syndrome and List of Asian birds.
If every city documented on Wikipedia included information like buildings bought, important firsts, etc. New York city would be enormous. To that end, a majority of this information should be removed since most of it fails notability, verifiability as well as reliability rules. Anynobody 05:57, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
