Woburn Sands railway station serves the villages of Woburn Sands and Wavendon in the borough of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located on the Marston Vale line between Bedford and Bletchley (Milton Keynes). The station is served by local trains to Bletchley and Bedford using Class 150/1 diesel multiple units operated by London Midland .
[edit] Station building and signal box
Woburn Sands has a black and white 'cottage' station building, a type unique to the line but which occurs four times on it. Other stations with buildings like this are Fenny Stratford and Millbrook.
Woburn recently lost its Victorian signal box to the development and modernisation of the route. Until 2004 the line was controlled by manned signal boxes located at various stations; however the entire route is now controlled from one signalling centre at Ridgmont.
