[edit] History

WNTS began operation as WGEE on December 10, 1956. Shortly after signing on, it became a station aimed toward the African American population of Indianapolis.

When the call letters changed (date at this time unknown), the new calls stood for News Talk Sports. Among the employees after the change was a Broad Ripple High School graduate named David Letterman.

The station changed formats to Southern Gospel in 1976. Since the station was sold (reported October 10, 2005 by Indiana RadioWatch), its website has gone down. The former owner of the station was Sam Smulyan, father of Emmis Communications CEO Jeff Smulyan.

[edit] Station broadcasting information

WNTS broadcasts using 5 kW daytime power and .5 kW nighttime power. The station uses a directional antenna at night. More information is available at the FCC query for WNTS.

[edit] Programming
