WNOW
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WNOW (1030 AM) in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a Spanish language radio station known as "Radio Lider".
The station was signed on in 1985 as a Contemporary Christian station by the founding general manager, Ken Mayfield. Russ Jones took over as manager soon after Mayfield's departure in 1989. The station operates as a 10,000 Watt day-time only outlet. It is now owned by Davidson Broadcasting.
Although WNOW carries the programing of "Radio Lider," this name is owned, and programing produced by a separate company called Orbimedia Lider Communications Inc.
Orbimedia first began to rent time on WNOW in 1994 and only for a few hours on Saturdays afternoons. Later, Orbimedia began to rent larger portions of time and added music programming, a departure from its main talk format.
