Regarding your change with the comment “Varietal is the adjective, variety the noun, fixing the grammar” — have a look at this definition. Seeing as it's not incorrect, it's shorter than “varietal wine,” and it's more specific than “variety” by itself, I much prefer varietal as a noun. It's also nice to have a one-word translation of fr:Cépage. Nathan 08:09, 26 May 2004 (UTC)

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

- I agree to [[Wikipedia:Multi-licensing|multi-license]] all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- {{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}
OR
- Option 2

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" with "{{MultiLicensePD}}". Hi... I like your recent edit to Champagne. I've had some concerns about the state of the article (NPOV, muddled statements), and your edit does a good job of addressing them. Thanks for making it clear under QmP what naturwein was. Curiously I was at a tasting of old German wines (1945/1953/1959/1967/1971/1983/1990) and did wonder what this meant, as several bottles were labelled with this. - You're quite welcome. The terminology on German wines, even as codified in 1971, is baroque, and when you get wines from before that, it's practically impossible, even for Germans. The naturwein is the one thing I'm pretty sure I understand. And don't get me started on cabinet vs. kabinett, et al. Wnissen 02:00, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

- Hey, no fair using hidden HTML comments, you sneak! I checked, and American pinot noir outnumbers Burgundy in the cellar seven to four, so it's obvious where my personal feelings are as far as regular drinking. However, I have yet to hear anyone who's sampled the best of California and the best of Burgundy and settled on the former. Of course, being willing to pay hundreds of dollars a bottle for Burgundy has a strong self-selection effect for people who already really like Burgundy... Wnissen 13:34, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

Prove it's not a neutral and relevant edit and I'll stop. So far, you haven't proved anything, except to cite it's "too long." It's a neutral edit, if you re-read it you WILL see that great pain was taken to ensure that it was reported solely based on FACT, not by anything else. It was a far more major incident then a one-line sentence can cover. And I get it, no more then three edits to an article in a day, sheesh, should edit that down to a one line sentence.
- The entire paragraph is filled with loaded and accusatory words. You want to discuss the article, do it on the talk page. I added a note to your Talk page because the Wikipedia requires a multiple notifications before users are blocked from editing. Also, I can tell who you are, but please sign your posts using four ~ characters so that they are "signed." Wnissen 01:20, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
It had nothing to do with anonymous-type edits, though I did forget. Whoops, lol. Regardless, you point out the words, and I'll change them. That simple. - I would recommend completely ignoring categories, links, and all the Wiki-specific stuff. Let the Wiki experts take care of that stuff, they don't need wine knowledge and they're way better at it than you or I. (As an example, I accidentally put the stub statement at the top of ten of your new pages and had to go back and fix them all.) Content is the key, and you are providing it in spades. Hi. I earlier posted a brief review of the reseach literature titled "Alcohol and Teenagers' Brains." about which three was some discussion. It was subsequently deleted, apparently because it was seen as original research.
I then revised the piece slightly under the title "Alcohol and young brains" and put this note on the discussion page:

“Original research that creates primary sources is not allowed. However, research that consists of collecting and organizing information from existing primary and/or secondary sources is strongly encouraged. - Good Morning, David Justin. The article was listed for deletion and that was the result. You can read the debate at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Alcohol_and_Teenage_Brains
It was deleted without debate (i.e., via speedy deletion) the second time around because it was a repost of an already deleted article. Let me first say that I don't agree with the result of the deletion; several participants said the content should be merged into Alcohol, which is not a bad idea, but no one did so and the article was deleted anyway. You might try listing it for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_review but reposting the article will not work. Wnissen 15:58, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Apologies to everyone for this notification being sent out so late, events in real life prevented me from distributing it at the time, and the Wine Project's had a bit of a lull during the Northern Hemsiphere summer. But as the nights draw in, activity should pick up again, and hopefully the next Newsletter will arrive a little more quickly....

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Ruby Hill Winery, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
