WMRA is a noncommercial public radio station located in Harrisonburg, Virginia and operated by James Madison University, whose signal, with its satellite stations, covers a large part of western and central Virginia. The station operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year in a news and talk format. The principal programming source is National Public Radio.
WMRA operates the following satellite stations:
WMRA also operates WEMC 91.7 FM in Harrisonburg (under a "Local Marketing Agreement") with primarily a news and talk format, including BBC news, Democracy Now! and the NPR talk shows Fresh Air, Talk of the Nation and On Point.
