[edit] History
WMIL at 106.1 FM emerged in 1983 as the sister station of WOKY. It's been a leading country station since then, and still is often at the top of the local ratings. The owners chose to use the WMIL call letters so when combined with their sister station, the two stations created the name "MIL-WOKY". Prior to being WMIL, the station was a low-power country station in Waukesha called WAUK-FM and simulcast WAUK.
In 2006 WMIL moved to the Channel 10 tower (American Tower) and installed a new transmitter with HD Radio.
In 2007, WMIL was voted "Top Country Station in a Large Market".
