From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WLQM is a radio station licensed to Franklin, Virginia. The station is owned by Franklin Broadcasting Corporation. The station broadcasts a Christian format as "The Light", a service of the Sheridan Gospel Network.
WLQM-FM's parent station was WYSR-AM (now WLQM-AM), a mainstay of the Franklin Southampton area since it first signed on the air in 1957. Founded by Thomas Clark, WYSR stood for "We're Your Southside Radio (station)" The station has had four locations--its original location in a converted house on Fourth Ave., in the Franklin Shopping Center, which was destroyed by a 100 year flooding of the Blackwater River, [[1]] the home of Peter Clark, and its present location in downtown Franklin.
