William Leslie Overal, known as "Bill," has always liked bugs, and so he became an entomologist. He works at the Emilio Goeldi Museum, in Belém, portal city to the fantastic Brazilian Amazon. Bill studied biology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, before moving on to graduate studies at the University of Kansas, in Lawrence. Bill has written over 60 scientific papers and 90 newspaper articles on our arthropod friends.
- Here at Wikipedia I like to make sure that folks and facts from Brazil become better know. The country is fantastic and merits our collective attention.
- I think that science should not be off-putting or frightening. People can relate to scientific projects and conclusions through an appreciation of the history of science.
- People, to me, have always been important, and biography tells us much about others and their times (perhaps, too, about us and our times).
- As an entomologist, I study insects and other terrestrial arthropods. For the past several years, I have worked with Amazonian butterflies and their conservation.
- Also, I enjoy reading about pirates, but I certainly would not want to travel the high seas by sailing ship during the Golden Age of Piracy.
- I'm an archaeology buff, too, but there are only a certain number of things one can do and not look too silly.
Please leave messages on my talk page. Be patient: I am a learner.
