WLAX, channel 25 and WEUX, channel 48 are a pair of Fox affiliated television stations in the La Crosse/Eau Claire, Wisconsin market. WLAX, the main station, is licensed to La Crosse; WEUX is licensed to Chippewa Falls. Both stations are currently owned by Grant Broadcasting, and operate from studios in La Crosse and Eau Claire.
In 1987, WLAX first signed on the air as an affiliate of the Fox television network. Satellite station WEUX launched in 1993. In addition to Fox programming, WLAX and WEUX carry syndicated programming such as Friends and Seinfeld.
The stations have a nine o'clock newscast on weeknights, produced by WEAU-TV, and using WEAU on-air personnel. Chris Herzog is the news anchor, Paige Pearson is the sports anchor and Sean Towle is La Crosse bureau reporter. The newscast launched on August 28, 2006. It also airs on WEAU-DT's digital subchannel 13-2. Beginning the weekend of January 20, 2007, the 9pm news aired seven nights a week.
In January 2008 WLAX began broadcasting in HD with the launch of 25.1 while sister station WEUX is on 48.1.
