[edit] History
WKTZ-FM signed on as an AM radio station in October of 1964. The FM radio station signed on in 1973.
The easy listening music format was founded by Jack H. Jones, the President and Chairman of Jones College.
Originally, WKTZ aired a jazz music format with the call letters of WFAM eventually becoming an easy listening music format with the current call letters of WKTZ-FM. As one of the last remaining "Beautiful Music" stations, WKTZ has a loyal and devoted audience, which has grown since the station began streaming its programming online via its website. WJAX-AM 1220, WKTZ's sister station, features the syndicated Music of Your Life adult standards format and also streams online.
