[edit] Programming

Music played on WKNH includes alternative rock, world music, jazz, reggae, and eclectic selections typical of college radio stations.[4] Longform programming includes shows news and commentary shows such as Pacifica's "Democracy Now" and "Landmark 25".[5] The station airs live performances of plays and poetry readings as part of an occasional series known as "WKNH Radio Theater".[6][7][8]

WKNH began streaming its programming live on the internet from its wknh.org website on January 1, 2006.[5]

[edit] Controversy

The station caused controversy in the community on February 10, 2004, after it played a pair of songs on opposite sides of the abortion debate.[9] The songs, the pro-life "Diary Of An Unborn Fetus" and the pro-choice "Will The Fetus Be Aborted", drew attention in the local media but did not result in FCC fines or any discipline for the disc jockey.
