WKLB (1290 AM) is a radio station that is licensed to serve Manchester, Kentucky. WKLB operates on 5000 watts of power in the day and 34 watts @ night. WKLB signed on the air on September 21, 1980 with 2500 watts of power. In 1983 WKLB received approval from the FCC to increase its power to 5000 watts making it one of the most powerful a.m radio stations in the Kentucky Mountains. WKLB's 5000 watt signal covers a good portion of the Kentucky Mountains. WKLB's 5000 watts station reaches out as far east as Knott County, KY. Far west as Somerset, KY. Far north as the Bert.T.Combs Mountain Parkway in Campton Kentucky and as far south as Jelico Tennessee on interstate 75.

WKLB 1290 A.M Manchester, Kentucky is an affiliate of the ABC NEWS RADIO NETWORK, THE KENTUCKY NEWS NETWORK, and ABC Music Radio.

WKLB also broadcasts Clay County High School Tiger Football & Basketball games of which the station has been doing since the day it came on in 1980. WKLB also has a SWAP SHOP/TRADING POST show of which airs Monday through Saturday 9:30 a.m til 12noon Monday through Saturday. The phone numbers are 598-2445 and 598-2653. some of the announcers on WKLB currently are Larry Barker(Swap Shop Host Tuesdays & Thursdays), Wayne Hensley(Swap Shop Host, Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays) Tyler Wolfe(Evening D.J 4pm til 6pm Monday through Saturday, Saturday Morning D.J host of Classic Country Saturday Morning from 6am til 9am, Swap Shop Host on Saturdays, and is also the Sports Director and Play by Play announcer for Clay County High School Football & Basketball Games).
