WKJX (96.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Adult Contemporary format. Licensed to Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA, it serves the Hampton Roads area. The station is currently owned by East Carolina Radio.
The station had signed on in the early eighties as an automated country station , then in the early 90s the station was sold to East Carolina Radio who flipped it to Urban Adult Contemporary. In the late 90s the station became a simulcast of sister classic rock station WOBR.
An upgrade to 50 Thousand Watts led to the format change to Adult Contemporary as Mix 96.[citation needed]
