WKFR-FM → WKFR (FM) — As noted on WT:RADIO, the preferred article title for a radio station is WXXX (FM) rather than WXXX-FM JPG-GR 08:16, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Survey - in support of the move
Support -- As stated at WT:RADIO WP:WPRS#Structure, WXXX (FM) is the preferred style over WXXX-FM. At this point, the former greatly outnumber the latter, and something like this should be consistent. JPG-GR 18:25, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Withdrawn, per newly discovered information. JPG-GR 06:19, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Survey - in opposition to the move
- Oppose. The standard is to use the actual call. The FCC lists this as WKFR-FM hence no move. Vegaswikian 23:15, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose. I'm with him on that!!! If we have to follows standards on television stations (i.e.: WXYZ-TV preferred over WXYZ (TV)), then we should those same standards for radio stations. --WIKISCRIPPS 07 FRI JAN 19 2007 8:37 PM EST
- Oppose. Sorry for the confusion, but if you look at the rewritten project page, which I rewrote today as a result of the data being both confusing and somewhat contradictory, it would be (FM) if the official entry does not have the -FM suffix in its official name, and there was more than one station article with the same base call sign. However, after doing an FM query in the FCC database, the official entry is WKFR-FM, which means the name should remain WKFR-FM. --PhantomS 05:46, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Discussion
- Add any additional comments:
I would appreciate it if those voting "Oppose" provide a link to the standard within WP that supports their argument. Obviously, if the standard is to use -FM instead of (FM), I'm all for it -- I just want some consistency to make things a lot easier going forward. JPG-GR 03:12, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Under the section 'Article creation for stations with call signs', the first line is "For countries that use call signs, the official call sign should typically be used." Incidentally, since no other articles use this call sign, if it didn't have the FM suffix, it would be located at WKFR. --PhantomS 05:48, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
