[edit] History

WKCY-FM started as WJSY-FM in 1980 with an Adult Contemporary format. Mid-Atlantic (former owners of WINC) bought WJSY and sister WKCY-AM in 1988. That same year WJSY switched calls to WKCY, becoming country in 1990. Mid-Atlantic sold WKCY-FM/AM to Clear Channel in 2000. WKCY-FM/AM's studios are on University Blvd. near the Valley Mall in Harrisonburg.
