From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Witham Health Services is a county-owned hospital located in Lebanon, Indiana. The hospital was established in 1915 with a grant from Mr. and Mrs. Flavius J. Witham. The hospital opened in 1917. In 2003, Witham opened a 128,000-square-foot replacement hospital. The new hospital provides state-of-the-art technology and services while ensuring patient privacy and comfort. Upon entering the facility, visitors don’t run into the typical sterile lobby and reception desk that are found in most hospitals. They are rather greeted by music from a self-playing piano and a 30-foot granite water wall enclosed in a skylight-topped atrium that is close to 50 feet high. (Health Executive, 2007).
Outpatient services are located on the first floor and include the Emergency Department, Occupational Health Services, Imaging and Laboratory Services, as well as Surgery. The 48 private inpatient rooms are located on the second floor and include the Medical/Surgical Unit, the Witham Maternity Center, ICU/CCU and Transitions Senior Behavioral Health Care Unit. The Sleep Lab, Inpatient Rehabilitation and Pharmacy are also located on the second floor of Witham Hospital. (Witham Health Services, 2007). Witham opened a dialysis center in 2007.
