The Wissenschaftliche Beirat der Bundesregierung Globale Umweltveränderungen (WBGU) (German Advisory Council on Global Change) was set up in 1992 by the Federal Republic of Germany as an independent scientific advisory board. Ever two years, the scientific advisory board provides the administration with a report on action and research recommendations for overcoming global environmental and developmental problems.
