Please demonstrate how "based off" is anything but a colloquialism? "based on" is one thing. That said, the Wisconsin State Senate's powers were not "based on" (or off) those of the US Senate (a statement that makes it sound like the US Senate authorized the powers of the State Senate), they were, in fact, as I wrote, modeled after the powers of the US Senate. The Wisconsin Constitution Article IV [1] clearly states that the legislature has two houses...the upper one is called the senate EdwinHJ | Talk 21:19, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
