[edit] Merge request

I can't say that I ever heard Highway 441 ever called the "Tri-County Freeway" even though I drive it daily. I do understand why it COULD be called that though. The 2 articles are about the same patch of highway. I believe that they should be merged into one article, and use the more familiar name of Highway 441. Tri-County Freeway should be a redirect to Highway 441 in my humble opinion. Royalbroil Talk  Contrib 05:22, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Note the conventions of WP:USSH, and the articles should be merged (if it should be, I have no local expertise) to Wisconsin Highway 441. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 05:24, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

I am confused by what naming convention was we decided for in Wisconsin is then. The "<" and ">" characters around the word "Wisconsin" ment optionality to me, since that is what the characters are used for in all of my computer programming and networking classes. I DO like the "Wisconsin Highway 441" naming convention, and I would have voted for it over all the other proposed names. How come ALL of the Wisconsin articles were not renamed to this new standard? What is the holdup? I notice that the other states are done. Royalbroil Talk  Contrib 13:14, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Well sorry. We have had to move over 5K pages, Wisconsin wasn't moved first. Be patient. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 22:28, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

My main question was about the exact naming system. I'm glad to hear that I did indeed have it right (or close enough). I wasn't questioning the order of the moves or the speed of the effort. I appreciate all the hard work in directing/guiding/teeth pulling that people like you did to get the state highway systems standardized as much as possible. Wikipedia is better for your efforts! I did the merge, but I did not use the new name since I remember reading at WP:USSH that only approved people could do the renaming, and that if anyone else did it that they would be a blocked. I wasn't interested in being blocked. Royalbroil Talk  Contrib 12:57, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Understood. Sorry I reacted that way, I wasn't in a good mood. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs)
