The Wiri - Manukau Branch is a proposed 2.5km connection between Wiri on the North Island Main Trunk Railway and Manukau City in Auckland, New Zealand. The line is proposed as part of ONTRACKs Project DART. The estimated cost of the project is $72 million, with construction expected to begin in 2009 - 2010.[1]

[edit] Route
The branch would leave the NIMT south of Puhinui, and slightly north of the closed Wiri Train Station. The line would run on both ONTRACK and Manukau City Council land, and it is proposed that Transit New Zealand will build some of the line's earthworks. The current extension of State Highway 20 to State Highway 1 includes provision for the route[2].
[edit] Station
The line is to have one station, at its terminus in the centre of Manukau City[2]. It is not decided yet where exactly this station will be located, with one proposal being near the Westfield Shopping Centre, and another being next to Hayman Park.[1]
