Wired Records is a record label based in Berlin and is run by Heidi Mortenson and Camille Saunders. It was founded by Heidi in 2005 when releasing "Wired Stuff" - the debut album of Heidi Mortenson, with money that she had received from a fund. The label originally started out as a series of events called Wired Nights which were held at various venues in Berlin between 2004 and 2005. The events took form as a music playground for spontanity and testing of new ideas. The Wired Nights were described as fun, chaotic and freakish theatre pieces of entertaining quality, as well as surprising guest appearances.[1]
2006 saw the release of "The Wired Ones", a compilation CD featuring artists such as Kevin Blechdom, Dynasty Handbag, Angie Reed and Scream Club. The record release party was held at Lido in Berlin and exceeded to the venues limit with 500 guests.
In February 2008 a new project was released: a limited edition handpainted vinyl. A single sided EP by Heidi Mortenson titled Diamonds & Underwear. Side A features 3 songs and each side B is uniquely handpainted and bears handmade engravings. It took three weeks to paint the vinyls. [2]
