WIRQ (104.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Alternative format. The station is licensed to Rochester, New York, USA, and is owned by West Irondequoit Central School District.[1]

WIRQ began broadcasting in January 1960. Originally at 90.9MHz, the station moved to 93.3MHz in 1981, then in the early 1990's moved to 94.3MHz for several years before moving again to 104.7MHz. As of early 2008, an application is pending for the station to move frequency yet again, back to its original 90.9MHz.

March of 1983 marked the beginnings of the station's Alternative format. Before then, the station had been mostly block-programmed.
