Talk:Wireline
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have also seen the term wireline used to mean the opposite of wireless. Mathiastck 22:18, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
The text of this article looks a lot like that found here: http://www.reference.com/search?r=13&q=Wireline with only subtle changes. is that a copyright problem? 76.81.61.145 07:59, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
I definitely recognise the sections I wrote in that reference.com article. They clearly ripped us off, rather than the other way round. If you look to the bottom, it looks like they may be crediting Wikipedia as the source.
- I guess ppen source is technically made with the intention of being ripped off. There's a quotation at the top.
|Besides that, fantastic article. This makes it a lot easier to pay attention to my offshore instructions. Bmunden 04:28, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
This document needs an impartiality review.
"weatherford is widely known to be the best in the business" - i am pretty sure that is not impartial, not to mention the fact that it is untrue. if i was drilling a well i would use SLB for wirelining... if i bothered wirelining at all. which i wouldn't afaik sperry and slb both have wireline quality LWD tools rendering the need for wireline a thing of the past. sperry even have a high end NMRIL tool and i am pretty sure weatherford are many miles behind in terms of that type of technology. anyway that's my deux centimes.
I am wondering if this article should be merged with the 'well logging' one. Alison Troup —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.84.89.129 (talk) 02:02, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
80% Slickline??? That doesn't sound right by any means. Perhaps a source should be supplied. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.141.186.141 (talk) 03:46, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
I added a cased hole tools section, rewrote the pressure control section, and rewrote the definition of electric wireline. I still feel like its not up to par. As an electric line engineer, I feel like this will be my pet project for a while. In the mean time, I beleive someone needs to clean up the open hole section for grammar and structure. I might attempt that later on. This really needs references, but I can't find anything to cite. Jax8248 (talk) 00:22, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
