[edit] Cutting with heat
How do you call wire saws that use the process of electric heating in a thin wire to cut, for example, Polystyrene? --Abdull 22:59, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- I think this would either be called a cut-off wire or a cutting wire. Thehardwareman 10:40, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

- The Wikipedia article on that is called hot-wire foam cutter. -Amatulic 18:17, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Merge proposal
It was suggested that the Wire Saw page be moved to Diamond Wire Cutting. One problem with this is that not all wire saws use diamond abrasive.
As of today, the Wire Saw page is now more comprehensive than the DWC page. The best way to combine the pages may be to put the DWC information in a "background" section in the Wire Saw page.

- I have swapped the direction of the merge tags, so the proposal is now to merge diamond wire cutting into wire saw instead of the other way round. Wire saw is the more general article, so more specific subjects should be merged into it. -Amatulic 18:17, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
