Wipeout HD is a downloadable entry in the Wipeout racing franchise, developed by Sony Liverpool for the PlayStation 3 video game console. [edit] Gameplay
Wipeout HD is a high-definition remake, which includes a number of tracks found in previous games - specifically, Wipeout Pure and Wipeout Pulse - that have been remastered to a high enough quality so that the game runs at a resolution of 1080p at 60 frames per second [3]. In addition, the game increases sound fidelity by including a Dolby 5.1 soundtrack.
Wipeout HD includes five race modes: Single Race, Tournament, Time Trial, Speed Lap, and Zone mode, which returns from Wipeout Fusion, in which your craft travels progressively faster throughout a race until your ship explodes. As well as single-player offline gameplay, Wipeout HD also features online racing, the second game in the series to do so after Wipeout Pulse, and will support eight players racing together. Also included is a "Team vs Team" mode, which allows teams of two to compete in larger races.
Other gameplay improvements include three new weapons: the Repulser, Shuriken and Leech Beam, and Mag-Strips from Wipeout Pulse will also feature, allowing players to defy gravity through tracks that feature loops, vertical drops, and 90 degree sections. A Pilot Assist feature will allow the player to get help navigating the circuits. It is evident that the weather will be changeable through user preference judging by screenshots and videos released by London Studio.
Additional features for the PlayStation 3 installment include the control of a player's craft using the motion-sensitive features of the SIXAXIS controller, and a Photo Mode to take screenshots of the game and save them to the PlayStation 3's hard drive, which can be transferred to PC, used as wallpaper, sent to friends, and so on. [4]

- AG-Systems
- Assegai
- Qirex
- Piranha
- EG-X

Downloadable content will also be made available over time to expand the game through downloadable packs.
