WIPS (1250 AM) was a radio station that broadcasted a Classic Hits format. Licensed to Ticonderoga, New York, USA, the station served the North Country. The station was owned by Bisiblue, L.L.C..[1]

WIPS started as a AM station located on Route 73 in outside the town of Ticonderoga, NY. The studio and its transmitter were both located on the shores of Lake Champlain. In the early 1980s, a fire burned the original studios to the ground. Limestone Communications ran WIPS for a while, adding a FM version. WIPS broadcast sunrise to sunset. Most recently, WIPS was located in Crown Point, New York, 12 miles from the original site. At the time of its closure, WIPS was running the Timeless Favorites format from ABC Radio.

After losing thousands of dollars per month, WIPS went silent on February 29, 2008.[2]
