[edit] Pronunciation?

How about a pronunciation note? Wi-fa-la? Wip-ha-la? -- 30 december 2005

Wi-pha-la, where the ph is an aspirated p ([1]). Zompist 06:25, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Representativeness

I do not know exactly which nations this flag (and its variations) represents, but surelly not the tribes from Brazilian Amazonia. Maybe the Bolivian part of it. Mainly because many of those tribes live isolated and probably have not ever seen this flag, and their cultural repertoire is different from the design of this flag. It must be noted that its design resembles very much the traditional weave of indigenous people from Andes. Tonyjeff 13:05, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] History?

Anyone have any info on the history of this? 12:09, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

The Spanish version of this page seems to give a sound account of the history of the symbol that goes beyond its contemporary romantization by indigenous political movements. Anybody wants to translate?
