Winterton Lighthouse is located in Winterton-on-Sea in the English county of Norfolk[1]. The lighthouse was built in 1867 although there has been a Lighthouse on the site since 1616. During the 1914/1918 World War the present lighthouse became a military lookout post. Soon after, in 1921, the Lighthouse ceased operations since when it has been a private residence. The lantern has been replaced by a circular observation room. At one time the lighthouse was the home of Viscount Elmley, M.P. for East Norfolk.
