Winston Blackmore

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Winston Blackmore is the leader of Canada’s largest polygamist group. For two decades Winston Blackmore served as the Bishop of the Bountiful group for the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Canada, a secretive and secluded polygamist community living in the Creston Valley of British Columbia, until Jeffs excommunicated him in September 2002. The community of Bountiful was split nearly in half — about 700 people continue to follow Blackmore, while about 500 follow Jeffs.[1]
