Winona Senior High School

Winona Senior High School is a publicly funded high school in Winona, in Winona County, which is located in southeastern Minnesota. The high school has over 1400 students in grades 9-12 and its new principal for the 2007 school year is Mr. John Phelps. The school's mascot is "Herky," the Winhawk. The school is part of the Winona Area Public Schools (Independent School District #861).

The school has recently undergone remodeling, with the construction finishing shortly before the '06-'07 school year started. The remodeling includes new offices, several new staircases and the shift of student lockers into a centralized hub, with more lockers placed throughout the halls. It is widely known as one of the worsts high schools of the area. Students do not graduate and have very low tests scores. The ones that graduate end up going to the Technical College.
