[edit] Dark Dark (label)
A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Dark Dark (label), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Davidprior 10:38, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unix vs UNIX
FYI, Unix is the canonical capitalization used on Wikipedia. "UNIX®" is used by The Open Group. See Unix#Branding for details. --IanOsgood 18:52, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Residents
Thank you for adding to The Residents article, just some advice from now try to work your additions into the article and not just add a new paragraph, there was already a sentence talking about them being obscure which is where I moved the link to.Ridernyc 23:54, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] More Peter C / Sampler (sic) pedantry
One glaring error in your latest statement is that the Peter C's "home-made one predates the Fairlight and mass-produced Mellotrons..." Are you aware the Mellotron was commercially available in the early 60s and it's predecessor, the Chamberlin was invented in 1946?
So my problems with the inclusion of this 'device' are:
- Not a novel idea, rather, based on 30-year previous technology
- Not novel for musical use, see: Beatles, Zombies, Genesis, Yes
- Not Digital, therefore doesn't meet the technical criteria for being called a sampler
- Not verifiable, as the blog post has disappeared, and you have no citation - strictly speaking, that's grounds for removal without any debate
- Even if the Myspace blog claiming anything related to this device WAS online, it's questionable whether it can be cited per WP policy, i.e. first-hand accounts/original research are forbidden
What irked me in the first place was the comparison to a Fairlight- a computer system! That's quite like comparing a tricycle to a 747. Also, you belabor the point that loops = sampler. The Mellotron didn't use tape loops, rather strips of tape that whipped back when they ran out. And also, the difference in real time sound control, editing, and recording your own samples are NUMEROUS- there is a world of difference between a Mellotron and a modern digital sampler, and this is way, way obvious.
I leave it up to you to decide what you want to do with the entry - but please read up on Wikipedia policies, based on some of these other items on your talk page, you seem to have some issues. Tremspeed 06:38, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Peter C album credits
Not that the intro is in any way encylopedic, but why would you leave an album entry where the man himself says he wasn't involved with? Tremspeed 06:47, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
So that someone else can then decide the best way to then handle whether or not to remove it, because I have realized that I am in no way qualified to contribute to Wikipedia in any way and will no longer edit any page other than this one.

[edit] Reich at Mills
Hi, what's the piece title, album title, label, number, and date? Who else is on the album? I can't find any history anywhere of another album from Mills and would love to know what else is out there. —Torc. (Talk.) 20:23, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
