Winnfield's primary industry is forestry. It is also home the the Carey Salt Mine one of the largest salt deposits in the united states. Thought the salt mine is no longer usable due to it's flooding decades ago. Winnfield is also a center of controversy. At one time the city was literally divided by railroad tracks, whites of one side and blacks on the other, thought this is not true today.
