I've been following the edits of 207.179.105.122 and noticed that he just made two date changes -- 1986 changed to 1987, 1995 changed to 1994. I have to head out and don't have time to check these dates. Unless someone checks before I get back online, I'll do the follow-up when I can. Changes of this nature make me wonder. • Ok, they look legit. There are actually conflicting years depending on which website you visit, but I think [1] can be trusted to get it right. This site says the band formed in 1987. It doesn't mention a specific year for dis-banding, but it hints at 1994. Minor date changes by anonymous users just make me paranoid.  :-) SWAdair | Talk 07:31, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Someone changed their second album to "In the Heart of the Homosexual". Obviously someone has an agenda. Grow up people. The real title is "In the Heart of the Young". Scorpsman 22:47, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Ok, that wasn't the only thing. There were about 6-7 gay references. I believe I corrected them all. Thank goodness for the history! Scorpsman 23:18, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Acoustic Songs

Did they release an acoustic album or demo? I got a couple of songs 220.227.74.129 05:37, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disambig

I'm concerned that while the band Winger is clearly very notable, there's a strong case that Winger (sports) may be the pre-eminent world usage of the word "Winger".

The hat-notes are good, but the guideline Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Primary_topic makes me believe that the status quo is incorrect.

To avoid a painful and contentious contest between sports and music fans (Not to mention the residents of Winger, which I'm sure is a lovely place to live) can I suggest that we move this article to Winger (band) and make Winger a disambiguation page.

I'm going to post this to the sports and location talk pages, but all comments here please, to keep the conversation centralised. --Dweller 10:35, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Agree - per the arguments made. Sebisthlm 11:05, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Agree, but possibly favour Winger (sports) as the article to be located at Winger - I would hazard a guess that in the majority of English-speaking countries (i.e. those that play football/hockey/ice hockey/rugby - Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK), Winger (sports) is the best known use of the term. пﮟოьεԻ 57 11:36, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Agree move this page to Winger (band), set this up as a dab page, then go through what links here and fix the links. King of the North East (T/C) 11:51, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Agree - per all above. - PeeJay 12:17, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Agree -  SpecialWindler talk (currently offline)  20:28, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Disagree - I've never heard of Winger used for anything other than the band, and I think that it is pretty easy for one to navigate to Winger (sports) and Winger (town) at the top of the page. I just don't see the need for change. Weatherman90 16:18, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Conversely, I've never heard of "Winger" used for anything other than the sporting position. I agree with the propose disambiguation page. Dave101talk  10:02, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Agree - per above, and per this. WATP (talk)(contribs) 19:07, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Agree - most people would probably be looking for a winger in some code of sport. - Shudde talk 21:23, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

With 10 responses in, I think consensus is pretty firm. I'll make the move. --Dweller 10:43, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bad Links

Are any of you "go ahead and make the disambig page" folks going to bother and fix the 100+ bad links??? Weatherman90 22:26, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Well, I made a start. --Dweller 23:21, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
I've just done 200 odd, there are only a few bad links left in the mainspace. King of the North East (T/C) 01:57, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
