The image represents an unreproducible historical event, consequently it can't be replaced with a free equivalent
It is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality).
The photo is only being used for informational purposes.
Its presence in the related article greatly enriches it because the image shows the facts discussed.
